| FilmDayton Fest |
| We'll be playing Sat. May 16th in Dayton at the first annual FilmDayton Fest. The after party show will take place at Gilly's with Lab Partners, Sohio, DJ Scorpious Max and Rev Cool. Tickets are $5 or FREE if you bring your ticket stub from the screening of Ed Radkte's "The Speed of Life". The After Party begins at 9pm. | ...TO THOSE WHO WAIT... |
| A communique to the loyal and curious: The line-up of the past 2 years is no more. Purtle has left to devote full-time to a long running side project, darkbackward. LaBonte has found a new home in Asheville,NC with Crank County Daredevils and Mr. C. Wright is still planning the rise of the machines and running a one-stop guitar repair, Wrightfield Guitar Salvage and Repair. In doing the math, as I'm sure you just have, that puts Jamy back in search of fresh troops. October '08 (brought a killer line-up of the brothers Murtagh, Derek and Sean (Circus Boy-Detroit) and Adamm Devine (Knox Angeles mayor). Final staff is yet to be confirmed. In the interim, Jamy (back in Dayton,O) is playing guitar with JJ Pearson in Indy and recording with Steve Miller (Electric Frankenstein) for a new Rock and Roll monster still to be named while writing new LXP songs. Fear not, 2009 is already bringing new energy and will find LXP in the van for MANY more miles... |

| Skating Workshop |
| We're opening our Sunday practice and hostessing a workshop on December 21st between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Skateworld of Kettering. We are still working very hard toward our goal of recruiting and retaining at least 20 skaters so that we can commit to a 2009 season, and this is your opportunity to see if you'd like to be a part of it. We'll provide skates and go over the basics of skating, hitting, falling, and the game itself to give you a better understanding of what it means to be a Gem City Rollergirl. Do you have what it takes? We think you do! |

| GCRG is Going Retro! |
| Remember the days when Michael Jackson still looked normal and Kevin Bacon was cuttin' footloose? Relive the glory days of big hair, neon colors, and slouchy socks while helping out a fantastic cause for the holidays. On Friday, December 19th, from 10:30 pm to 1:00 am, the Gem City Rollergirls will be helping Kettering of Skateworld collect Toys for Tots at a 1980's Skating Party. The rollergirls will also be doing some skating demos to give you a taste of what roller derby is all about. It's only for folks 18 and up, though, so you must bring your ID to get in. Dress the part and bring a toy to get in free, otherwise admission is $5. |
