Here's a hook to hang on: Never trust a man who's wrong. I knew so much i couldn't see straight, i could barely see right. Fast is fast and fast is fact, i'm summersick and that is that. Get tech with me and get fast tonite.   psionic co-prosperity sphere

Nostromo Semi-Annual Journal of Love
For the Benefit of Mr. Spence

T'has been nearly 3 long years since the wayfaring strangers and star-lit minstrels of Nostromo last bestowed the city with their tales of love lost and brethern betrayed, and yet they appear before us, ready to lay upon us many a new "saga" or "rifft" or "plunge into rock darkness"... what gives? What fury hath cause to bring tidings new from the tousled hair rock veterans of star-sung haste? What fire could be lit 'neath beautific rear that would stir the hardened hearts of those bards t'were snubbed a'fore canonization?

A combination of things, you can be sure, friend.

The FUTURE IS HERE and I must REDEEM MYSELF OR PERISH!

The first of these events was the departure of a dear friend (Mink-ster Morgan 'Milk' Taylor) to a city beyond the skyline of this burg. To a better place he goes, and not without the well wishing of his compatriots. We will see him again, 'ere we cross the breach... or is it breech?

The space-hardy compatriots of Nostromo could not resist the temptation to "swoop down" or "rock-plummet" onto the stage one last time. And so they did, and bid him a hearty "A'deus Irae"... and then he left.

That might have been the end of it, but for a 'call to arms' of sorts... a rallying of the forces that are all things rock in this pitiful town called Dayton.

No, salty comrade, Nostromo cannot sit back whilst the forces of the other shadowed netherworlds work their fate out upon a fellow musician... they must spring to action.

Fortunately said action had already been sprung, else 'they whose ways are oft flaky' may never have gotten around to it... and so we arrive in a roundabout way at the 'point'.

Gregg Spence - Dayton Musician Extrodinaire

Gregg Spence has been seen around the city in many forms: singer, songwriter, drummer, guitarist, performer. Cage. Mulchmen. Countless solo appearances. A soft spoken element in the 'scene' who is often taken for granted but is worth more salt than most of the lot of us put together. A gentleman always, he is never without a kind word for those of his ilk, whether they be with or without talent.

It is a time of need for Mr. Spence, and nay, we will not advertise the causes or motives of the treachery that goes on inside without permission, suffice to say that his health is at issue.

A series of benefit concerts has been planned, and Nostromo is proud to be part of the effort. Friday, June 18th they will be appearing at Canal St. Tavern with other 'loud rock' bands Let's Crash, the Mystery Addicts and others. This is an important cause, and nearly everyone has rallied to the cry. We are anxious to entertain you and we eagerly look forward to your patronage.

More information can be obtained at the Gregg Spence Homepage.

Last Releases: Critics Slam Recording Quality

Ah, followers of the large crotched brethren that are Nostromo, it may come as a surprise to you that the last few recordings have been slandered by the press as having 'poor recording quality' or 'sound shitty'. This should not daunt you. It's the songs that were always important to you, right? Well, to make up for years of quasi-lo-fi and general piss-poor techniques, all of this material will be available to you soon, at such little cost as to be non-existant. The band will soon post all previously released material in MP3 format on this website, and will also supply the original artwork so you can recreate the original cassette experience. This is our gift to you for years of patience.... the same substandard recording quality, but FREE!

Scientology vs. Love-onomicon
In the last transmission from us, the unwashed, the outcaste, the sinners in need of redemption, we made it clear that we would not speculate on the future plans of the band... this is still a near-truth. But while it remains uncertain how we will proceed from here, i give assurances that one thing will transpire: All previously released audio will be posted online for all to hear. In addition, we will be digging up some unknown gems for those of you with a taste for the obscure. This site will grow, whether the band continues to or not. This much i promise.

Revolution? Heh. We speak not of revolution.

We are merely castaways, seeking an isle of refuge in unfriendly seas. So what do we speak of? You, too, can find out by watching for website updates, lyric sheets, RealAudio and MP3s, album artwork, scribbled notes, and more! Our souls will be laid bare to you, the uncaring, the unknowing, the fickle and the musically parched. We can offer very very little more to you... unless you count or growing line of fine products.
