Connection Description

1

Ground - used as the systems common for the "Reed" and "Options" switches

2

Chuff Trigger - Reed Switch, used to sense speed for chuff synchronization

3

Whistle Trigger - Reed Switch, used to magnetically trigger whistle sequence. Please note that the whistle is most generally sounded from a right-hand, positioned track magnet, like those made by LGB.

4

Bell Trigger - Reed Switch, used to magnetically trigger bell sequence. Please note that the whistle is most generally sounded from a left-hand, positioned track magnet, like those made by LGB.

5

Option Jumper - This is used to control special effects options such as Doppler and Canyon chuffing on a steam sound system; and as a break squeal trigger on a diesel sound system. For this K28 project we will be setting this up for "Canyon Chuffing".

6

Option Jumper - This is used to activate the system's AutoChuff feature. The AutoChuff feature used input voltage from the track power leads on P1 to determine the chuff's speed rate. Generally, this option is not recommended for optimum system performance on Steam sound systems. This option is not used on Diesel sound systems.

7

Option Jumper - This is used to activate the system's DoubleChuff feature. The DoubleChuff feature provides a compound chuffing sound that simulates the chuffing of a mallet or articulated locomotive. This option is not used on a Diesel sound system.

8

Ground - used as the systems common for the "Reed" and "Options" switches.

*Note

Jumper Options and Triggers are activate by shorting the desired pin number to the ground on pins 1 or 8 of the P2 terminal strip.
